Commissions: Pricing

Ordering:

I generally work from photographs of the subject, either good clear large photographs provided by the client or if the subject is within reasonable travelling distance I am happy to take the photographs myself (a small additional charge may be made for this service).

Portraits are carried out in oils, acrylics, fine art coloured pencils or graphite pencils, depending on the subject and the client’s wishes.  All materials used are of the highest quality.

The finished portrait can be supplied either framed or unframed.

A completion date will be agreed on acceptance of the commission.

If you would like to commission a portrait or landscape painting, please get in touch to discuss your ideas.  I am happy to answer your questions and  talk about your requirements with no obligation on your part.  If you should decide to go ahead with the commission you will then be asked to sign an agreement and pay a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total amount agreed.

If, for any reason, you choose not to accept the finished painting, I will retain the deposit and the painting and you will owe nothing further.

After completion and acceptance of the portrait, you will have the opportunity to order cards and/or prints of the work for friends and family.  

 Pricing

Prices vary according to the size of the portrait, the number of people or animals included, the complexity, the medium in which the portrait is painted, and whether or not it is to be framed.

The following table is designed to give a general indication of pricing for a single animal/person (head and shoulders), unframed, but the prices shown may vary according to your requirements for the commission. Oil and acrylic paintings are done on either canvas or board, while coloured pencil and graphite are generally done on paper.
